New Project Alert: Abstract Cactus
Jared Mann of Twin Foxes and Distorted Forest Studio has a sweet new solo tune
Fresh and tasty this morning we’ve got a track from Jared Mann’s brand new solo effort, Abstract Cactus. It’s goooooooooood. Mann is the face of Providence band Twin Foxes though many know him from his North Smithfield, Rhode Island recording studio, Distorted Forest. I can tell you from experience that the Forest is a top notch place to track and mix your stuff with someone who brings killer instincts (like… in a good way, not pew pew pew) to his wealth of experience. This is not a paid advertisement.
brain one brain two, this first Abstract Cactus offering, is really fun. It’s fuzzy with a capital F-U-Z-Z-Y, melodic, and takes some enticing turns within its 3 minutes and 49 seconds. Mann recorded and mixed all the instruments and vocals himself, so not surprisingly, shit sounds great.
Super fuzzy vocals always make me feel like there’s a lyrical secret waiting to be unearthed. What are you hiding, Jared? Why is your cactus so abstract?
